Joe & Bella

Adaptive Clothing That Combines Comfort, Confidence, and Style

Our Story

Joe & Bella was born from a deeply personal experience and a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves clothing that is easy to wear, comfortable to live in, and stylish enough to feel good in.

Co-founded in 2020 by Peter Zollo and his son Jimmy, Joe & Bella was inspired by Peter's decade-long experience caring for his aging parents. As their mobility declined, everyday activities that once seemed effortless—including getting dressed—became increasingly challenging.

When Jimmy purchased adaptive clothing for his grandmother, she took one look at it and responded, "Ugly!" That honest reaction revealed a much bigger problem. Although traditional adaptive clothing often addressed practical needs, many options lacked the modern designs, attractive styles, and personal expression people wanted.

Jimmy began researching the market and discovered that countless adults faced the same challenge. There was a clear need for clothing that offered both functionality and fashion without forcing people to compromise on either.

Together, Peter and Jimmy founded Joe & Bella to change that experience. Since the beginning, our mission has been to make dressing easier while helping people feel confident, comfortable, and true to themselves.

Clothing Designed for Real Life

At Joe & Bella, we believe getting dressed should be a source of comfort and confidence, not frustration or stress.

Our adaptive clothing is thoughtfully designed for adults who experience difficulties dressing because of aging, disabilities, chronic conditions, limited mobility, or recovery from surgery and injury.

We serve people with a wide range of needs, including:

  • Older adults who want clothing that is easier to put on and take off while maintaining their personal style.

  • Wheelchair users who need clothing designed with their everyday comfort and mobility in mind.

  • People living with arthritis or limited hand dexterity who may find traditional fastenings and dressing movements challenging.

  • Individuals with Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, ALS, and other conditions that can affect movement and dressing independence.

  • People recovering from surgery, injuries, or medical treatments who need more convenient and comfortable dressing options.

  • Individuals living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or cognitive changes who may benefit from clothing designed to support their specific dressing needs.

  • Family members and caregivers looking for practical clothing solutions that make daily dressing routines easier.

  • Senior living communities and care professionals seeking comfortable, functional apparel for the people they support.

We understand that everyone's situation is different. Some people want to maintain complete independence, while others may need occasional assistance or more hands-on support. Our goal is to offer thoughtful clothing options that accommodate different abilities, preferences, and levels of assistance.

Fashion Without Compromise

We believe adaptive clothing should look just as good as any other clothing in your wardrobe.

For too long, people who needed easier dressing solutions often had to settle for garments that felt institutional, outdated, or disconnected from their personal style. At Joe & Bella, we challenge that expectation by bringing together practical design and contemporary fashion.

Our approach focuses on creating clothing that feels natural in everyday life—pieces people can wear with confidence at home, when visiting family and friends, or while enjoying their favorite activities.

We believe that needing adaptive features should never mean giving up the colors, silhouettes, or styles you love. Every person deserves the opportunity to express their individuality through what they wear.

Our philosophy is simple: adaptive clothing should support your needs without defining who you are.

Supporting Independence and Dignity

Getting dressed is about more than putting on clothes. It is part of a person's daily routine, sense of identity, and independence.

When dressing becomes difficult, even small tasks can require additional time, effort, or assistance. Thoughtfully designed adaptive clothing can help simplify these routines, reduce unnecessary frustration, and make everyday life more manageable.

At Joe & Bella, we design with the understanding that comfort and dignity matter at every age and ability level. We want people to feel empowered to make choices about their clothing and maintain as much independence as their individual circumstances allow.

We also recognize the important role family members and caregivers play. By making clothing easier to manage, we aim to support smoother dressing routines and more comfortable experiences for both wearers and the people who assist them.

Our purpose is not simply to make clothes easier to put on. It is to help make daily life feel a little easier, more comfortable, and more personal.

Designed With Care and Purpose

Every person has different needs, and no two dressing experiences are exactly alike. That is why we believe adaptive clothing should be developed with real-life challenges in mind.

From ease of dressing to everyday comfort and personal style, Joe & Bella focuses on the details that can make a meaningful difference in how clothing feels and functions.

We aim to create garments that fit naturally into everyday wardrobes while addressing practical dressing challenges. Our approach combines thoughtful functionality with the appearance and feel of modern clothing, helping customers find solutions that suit their routines and preferences.

Whether someone is looking for everyday essentials, comfortable clothing for a loved one, or practical options during recovery, we want the experience of choosing and wearing clothing to feel simple and reassuring.

Our Mission: Making Dressing Easier for Everyone

At Joe & Bella, our mission is to make getting dressed easier for adults who face dressing challenges—without sacrificing comfort, confidence, or style.

We believe clothing should adapt to people, not the other way around.

We are committed to creating solutions that recognize the diverse needs of older adults, people with disabilities, individuals living with chronic conditions, and those navigating recovery or changes in mobility.

Just as importantly, we want to help change the way people think about adaptive clothing. It should not be viewed as a compromise or a limitation. It can be modern, attractive, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed for real life.

More Than Clothing

Joe & Bella is built on the belief that everyone deserves to feel good in what they wear, regardless of age, ability, or circumstances.

We believe the right clothing can help support independence, preserve dignity, ease daily routines, and encourage self-expression. For wearers, it can mean greater comfort and confidence. For families and caregivers, it can mean more manageable dressing routines. For everyone, it can mean a more thoughtful approach to everyday essentials.

We continue to design with one purpose in mind: helping people experience the freedom of wearing clothing they love, in ways that work for them.

At Joe & Bella, getting dressed should feel easier—and feeling good in your clothes should always be possible.
