Our Story – From a College Dorm Room to a Global Brand

BLENDi began in 2016 with a simple idea from college student Jon Katz: making healthy smoothies should be possible anywhere, without needing a traditional blender, an electrical outlet, or a kitchen countertop.

The inspiration came from a familiar frustration. Jon was tired of dealing with lumpy protein shakes at the gym and realized that existing blending solutions did not offer the convenience he wanted. He envisioned a compact, portable blender that could deliver smooth and consistent drinks wherever people needed them.

With this vision in mind, Jon started developing BLENDi in his dorm room at Springfield College. What began as a small student project gradually evolved into an innovative product concept with the potential to change the way people prepare their everyday beverages.

Today, BLENDi has grown from that original idea into a recognized portable blending brand, with more than one million units sold and products available through over 1,000 retail locations. The company also highlights its record of having no product recalls since its founding in 2016.

Making Cordless Blending Better

At the heart of BLENDi is one simple belief: your protein shake or smoothie should never have to be lumpy, and you should not need a traditional corded blender to enjoy a perfectly blended drink.

The brand continues to push the boundaries of cordless blending technology by developing portable appliances that combine power, convenience, and practical design.

BLENDi products are designed to fit easily into everyday routines. Their compact, bottle-inspired construction makes them convenient to carry in a handbag or gym bag, while rechargeable batteries eliminate the need to stay close to a power outlet.

Key product features include:

• Portable and Compact Design: Conveniently sized to fit into everyday bags, making it easy to take your blender wherever you go.

• Cordless Operation: Enjoy blending without depending on electrical outlets or countertop appliances.

• Ice-Crushing Capability: Designed to handle ice and frozen ingredients for a wider variety of refreshing drinks.

• Convenient USB Charging: Recharge using a compatible charging cable, making everyday charging simple and accessible.

• Smooth Blending Performance: Helps prepare protein shakes, smoothies, and other beverages with a smoother consistency.

From busy mornings to post-workout nutrition, BLENDi aims to make healthy drinks easier to prepare and enjoy throughout the day.

Our Journey of Innovation

BLENDi's development has been shaped by continuous experimentation, engineering collaboration, and a commitment to improving portable blending technology.

December 2016 – The First Prototype

Working alongside engineer Pat Vincenti, Jon created the first experimental prototype using a drill battery and trigger mechanism attached to a modified blender. Although the early design was simple and unconventional, it demonstrated that a handheld cordless blender could become a reality.

Early 2017 – The First Investor Presentation

Jon introduced BLENDi to potential investors for the first time, bringing along the original prototype and a strong belief that portable blending represented the future of convenient beverage preparation.

May 2017 – The Final Prototype

After collaborating with 11 engineers from the University of Massachusetts (UMass), BLENDi completed its final prototype. The result was a more powerful, compact, and production-ready design that brought the original concept closer to becoming a commercial product.

2017 – The First 300 Units Sold Out

BLENDi's first production batch of 300 units quickly sold out, demonstrating genuine customer interest and encouraging the brand to continue developing its products.

BLENDi introduced its latest innovation, BLENDi Steel, combining insulated stainless steel construction with portable blending technology to create a more advanced everyday blending experience.

Designed for Active and Healthy Lifestyles

BLENDi understands that maintaining healthy habits can be challenging when life gets busy. Traditional kitchen appliances are not always practical for people who spend much of their time commuting, working, exercising, or traveling.

By bringing blending technology into a portable bottle format, the brand helps remove some of these everyday obstacles. Users can prepare protein shakes after workouts, enjoy fresh smoothies during office breaks, or create refreshing drinks while traveling.

BLENDi is designed for fitness enthusiasts, students, busy professionals, travelers, and anyone who values convenience without giving up their nutritional goals.

Our Mission – Making Healthy Choices Easier

BLENDi was built around the belief that healthy nutrition should fit naturally into everyday life. The brand continues to focus on developing practical, innovative blending solutions that make preparing nutritious beverages simpler and more enjoyable.

From its humble beginnings in a college dorm room to more than one million products sold, BLENDi's journey reflects the power of identifying everyday problems and creating meaningful solutions.

Through continuous product development, engineering innovation, and thoughtful design, BLENDi aims to redefine what a portable blender can offer.
